She is the younger of two daughters born to [[Percy Weasley]] and his wife, Audrey Weasley. Her existence places her in the next generation of the wizarding world following the end of the [[Second Wizarding War]]. Her only appearance in the series is a brief mention in the epilogue of //Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows//. =====Biography===== Little is known about Lucy's life. She was born after the conclusion of the [[Second Wizarding War]] to [[Percy Weasley]] and his wife, Audrey. She has one older sister, [[Molly Weasley]]. In the epilogue, which takes place on 1 September 2017, [[Ron Weasley]] mentions to [[Harry Potter]] that their brother Percy is at [[King's Cross Station]], stating that Percy is "actually managing to tear himself away from the [[Ministry of Magic]] for a day" to see his daughter Molly off to [[Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry]] for the first time. Lucy is not mentioned as accompanying them, suggesting she was not yet of school age at this time. This would place her birth year after 1 September 2006. =====Physical Appearance and Personality===== The novels provide no description of Lucy's physical appearance or personality traits. As a member of the [[Weasley family]], it is possible she inherited the characteristic red hair, but this is not explicitly confirmed. =====Magical Abilities and Skills===== There is no information regarding Lucy's magical abilities. As a member of a prominent wizarding family, it is presumed she is a witch and would have attended [[Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry]] upon turning eleven. =====Possessions===== There is no canonical information about any of Lucy's possessions. =====Relationships===== * **Parents:** Lucy is the daughter of [[Percy Weasley]] and Audrey Weasley. Her mother's maiden name and blood status are unknown. * **Sister:** She has one older sister, [[Molly Weasley]], named after their paternal grandmother. * **Paternal Grandparents:** Her paternal grandparents are [[Arthur Weasley]] and [[Molly Weasley]]. * **Paternal Uncles and Aunts:** Her paternal uncles are [[Bill Weasley]], [[Charlie Weasley]], [[George Weasley]], and [[Ron Weasley]]. Her paternal aunt is [[Ginny Weasley]]. Her uncle [[Fred Weasley]] died before she was born. * **Cousins:** Lucy has numerous cousins, including [[Victoire Weasley]], [[Dominique Weasley]], and [[Louis Weasley]] (children of Bill and Fleur); [[Rose Granger-Weasley]] and [[Hugo Granger-Weasley]] (children of Ron and Hermione); [[James Sirius Potter]], [[Albus Severus Potter]], and [[Lily Luna Potter]] (children of Harry and Ginny); and [[Fred Weasley]] and [[Roxanne Weasley]] (children of George and Angelina). =====Etymology===== * **Lucy:** The name Lucy is the English form of the Roman name //Lucia//, which is derived from the Latin word //lux//, meaning "light." The name can be seen as symbolic of the new era of peace and light that followed the dark times of the [[Second Wizarding War]]. * **Weasley:** [[J.K. Rowling]] has stated that she has always had a fondness for the weasel animal, which has an undeservedly poor reputation in the UK. The family name reflects this, and their home, [[The Burrow]], is reminiscent of a weasel's den. (J.K. Rowling interview) =====Behind the Scenes===== * Lucy Weasley is mentioned only once in the entire book series, in the epilogue of //Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows//. * The name of Lucy's mother, Audrey, is not mentioned in the book but was later revealed by [[J.K. Rowling]]. (J.K. Rowling interview) * Lucy was included on the Weasley family tree that was hand-drawn by [[J.K. Rowling]] and featured in a television documentary. (J.K. Rowling interview) * Lucy does not appear and is not mentioned in the film adaptation of the epilogue. She is also not a character in the stage play, *[[Harry Potter and the Cursed Child]]*.
