Charles Weasley
Introduction
Charles “Charlie” Weasley is a pure-blood wizard, the second eldest son of Arthur Weasley and Molly Weasley. A member of the renowned Weasley family, Charlie was a Gryffindor Prefect and a legendary Quidditch Seeker during his time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After graduating, he pursued his lifelong passion by moving to Romania to work with dragons. A brave and loyal member of the reinstated Order of the Phoenix, Charlie contributed significantly to the fight against Lord Voldemort during the Second Wizarding War, primarily by recruiting foreign wizards and fighting in the Battle of Hogwarts.
Biography
Hogwarts Years
Charlie attended Hogwarts from 1984 to 1991 and was sorted into Gryffindor House. He was an exceptional Quidditch player, serving as both Seeker and Captain for the Gryffindor team. His skill was so remarkable that Oliver Wood later told Harry Potter that Charlie “could've played for England if he hadn't gone off chasing dragons.” In his seventh year, Charlie served as a Prefect. He was a popular and respected student, known for his love of the outdoors and magical creatures.
Career in Romania
Upon graduating from Hogwarts, Charlie chose to pursue a specialised and dangerous career as a Dragonologist, moving to Romania to work on a dragon reservation. In 1992, he assisted Rubeus Hagrid by arranging for several of his colleagues to smuggle a baby Norwegian Ridgeback, named Norbert, out of Hogwarts after it was illegally hatched by Hagrid. In 1994, Charlie was part of the team of Dragon Keepers who transported four different dragons—a Hungarian Horntail, a Chinese Fireball, a Swedish Short-Snout, and a Common Welsh Green—to Hogwarts for the First Task of the Triwizard Tournament. He was dismayed to learn that his youngest brother's best friend, Harry Potter, was a champion and would have to face one of the dragons.
Second Wizarding War
When Lord Voldemort returned to power, Charlie joined the reinstated Order of the Phoenix. His primary mission was to attempt to recruit foreign wizards to the Order's cause, a difficult task as many abroad were slow to believe in Voldemort's return. In the summer of 1997, Charlie was part of the “advance guard” in the Battle of the Seven Potters, an Order of the Phoenix operation to move Harry Potter from Number Four, Privet Drive to the safety of The Burrow. He acted as a decoy, accompanying Rubeus Hagrid disguised as Harry Potter via Polyjuice Potion. During the climactic Battle of Hogwarts in May 1998, Charlie arrived with reinforcements alongside Professor Horace Slughorn. Leading the defenders from Hogsmeade, their arrival helped turn the tide of the battle against the Death Eaters. He survived the war and was seen mourning the death of his brother, Fred Weasley, alongside his family.
Physical Appearance and Personality
Charlie is described as having a build similar to his brothers Fred and George Weasley, but shorter and stockier. He has a broad, good-natured face that is weathered from working outdoors. His face and muscular arms are covered in freckles, and he has a large, shiny burn on one arm from a dragon-related accident. Like all members of his family, he has flaming red hair. Personality-wise, Charlie is brave, easy-going, and kind-hearted. His defining trait is his immense passion and respect for magical creatures, particularly dragons. He is incredibly loyal to his family and to the cause of the Order of the Phoenix, willing to risk his life for what is right. He is more rugged and outdoorsy than his brothers Bill or Percy Weasley.

- Weasley: J.K. Rowling has stated that the name is derived from the weasel. Despite the animal's negative reputation in the UK, Rowling has a personal fondness for them. The family's red hair is also a nod to the weasel's reddish-brown coat.
