Keith Harvey
Introduction
Keith Harvey was a Muggle youth and a member of Dudley Dursley's gang of bullies who resided in Little Whinging. He is a peripheral character whose name does not appear in the original novels, originating instead from the Harry Potter Trading Card Game.
Biography
Keith was a friend of Dudley Dursley and lived in the Little Whinging area. He was part of a group of boys that also included Piers Polkiss, Dennis, Malcolm, and Gordon. During their childhood, the gang frequently engaged in bullying, their favorite pastime being a cruel game they called “Harry Hunting,” which involved chasing and beating up a young Harry Potter. By the summer of 1995, the gang's activities had escalated to include vandalism of the local play park, smoking, and terrorizing younger children in the neighborhood. It is unknown if Keith was with the gang on the night that Dudley was attacked by two Dementors in the alleyway between Wisteria Walk and Magnolia Crescent, as the books only name the other four members as having been with Dudley shortly before the incident.
Physical Appearance and Personality
There is no physical description of Keith Harvey in any source material. Behind the Scenes
The character of Keith Harvey is not mentioned in any of the seven Harry Potter novels by J.K. Rowling. His name originates solely from the flavor text on the “Dudley's Gang” card (Card #58) from the original base set of the Harry Potter Trading Card Game (TCG), released in 2001. In the books, Dudley's gang is stated to consist of Piers Polkiss, Dennis, Malcolm, and Gordon. The TCG added Keith as a fifth member. Due to his origin in licensed merchandise rather than the primary novels or author-penned supplementary material (like Pottermore), his status as a canonical character is considered secondary.
