Behind the Scenes
Sophora Pye is not mentioned in any of the seven original Harry Potter novels. All information about her character originates from the second issue of the Daily Prophet Newsletter, a promotional publication written by J.K. Rowling for the official fan club in 2004. Her story was later canonized on the Pottermore website. Her existence provides more depth to the staff of St. Mungo's and gives context to the named-only character of Augustus Pye from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
