Foundables

Foundables are the central element of the narrative in Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. They are magical entities that have appeared erratically throughout the Muggle world, creating a global crisis that threatens to expose magic to the non-magical population. Upon approaching a Trace, a witch or wizard will find the Foundable, which is almost always afflicted by a Confoundable—a form of chaotic magic that traps, guards, or otherwise endangers the Foundable. To rescue a Foundable, one must cast the appropriate spell to overcome the Confoundable. (video game)

Returned Foundables are recorded in a player's Registry, which is organized into several categories, including: (video game)

The concept of Foundables, along with the associated event known as The Calamity and the Statute of Secrecy Task Force, was created specifically for the augmented reality mobile game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite (2019–2022) developed by Niantic and WB Games. This entire terminology and storyline do not appear in the original seven Harry Potter novels by J.K. Rowling. (video game)
