Louis Weasley

Louis Weasley is a wizard and the youngest child and only son of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour. He has one-eighth Veela ancestry through his mother. Louis is the younger brother of Victoire Weasley and Dominique Weasley. His sole appearance in the novels is during the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, where he is seen on Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.

Louis is the third child of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour, born after the end of the Second Wizarding War. He is a member of the extensive Weasley family. On 1 September 2017, Louis was present with his family on Platform Nine and Three-Quarters to see his relatives off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. His presence was noted by his cousin, James Sirius Potter, who remarked to his own family that he had seen their cousin Victoire kissing Teddy Lupin. It is not specified whether Louis was old enough to be attending Hogwarts at this time.

The novels provide no description of Louis Weasley's physical appearance or his personality traits. As he is part-Veela, it is possible he inherited some of their characteristic good looks, but this is not confirmed in any canonical source.

As Louis is only seen briefly as a child, his level of magical proficiency, wand type, and other skills are unknown. He has not been depicted performing any magic.

Louis is not known to possess any specific or significant magical items.

  • Louis: The name is of French and Germanic origin, derived from “Hlodowig” meaning “famous warrior”. It is a historically significant royal name in France, likely chosen as a tribute to his mother's French heritage.
  • Weasley: According to J.K. Rowling, the surname is derived from the weasel, an animal with an undeservedly poor reputation in Britain. She has also noted the connection between weasels and red hair, a prominent family trait.
  • Louis Weasley's name, along with those of his sisters and many of his cousins, was first revealed by J.K. Rowling in a television documentary, J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life, where she displayed a hand-drawn Weasley family tree. This information was later confirmed on the Pottermore website. (J.K. Rowling interview), (Pottermore).
  • An uncredited child actor portrays Louis in the epilogue sequence of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. (film).
